Private Text Input Module

Private Text Input Module

The Private Text Input Module allows you to input private, or sensitive data into your Pipe. Only you – the Yahoo Pipe author – is allowed to see it. No one else! This is useful for sensitive information like passwords or usernames. And can also be useful if you want people to use your Pipe, but don’t want to let them have the ability to see what modules you used to make it.

In this example, we’ll use the Private Text Input Module to make a user enter private information into our Yahoo Pipe. In this case, it will be an Ebay account password.

We’ll call the input “ebaypassword”, set the prompt as “Enter Your Ebay Password”, position as “1”, default as “roadrunnersupply”, debug as “roadrunnersupply”, and make sure to check the “Private” checkboxes.

Private Text Input Module

This could be useful if we wanted to create a Pipe to show sensitive data about someone’s Ebay account.

We can take this private text string and wire it into different modules for further processing.
